Abstract

Data kecepatan angin dibutuhkan untuk memperkirakan cuaca di suatu tempat. Anemometer merupakan alat ukur yang dapat mengukur kecepatan angin. Dalam rangka melengkapi sarana pembelajaran bidang meteorologi, penelitian perlu dilakukan untuk merancang anemometer dari bahan-bahan yang mudah diperoleh dan terjangkau harganya. Langkah- langkah dalam penelitian ini meliputi perancangan, konstruksi, analisis performa dan penskalaan anemometer. Hasil penelitian dengan analisis performa menunjukkan bahwa rancang bangun anemometer dapat bekerja optimal, jika panjang lengan 2 cm dan diameter mangkuk bola 8 cm. Jangkau ukur anemometer tersebut ialah 1,78 m/s - 4,71 m/detik.

 

ANALOG ANEMOMETER DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

Data of wind velocity is required for estimating the weather. Anemometer is an instrument that can be used to measure the wind velocity. A research was conducted to design and construct anemometer using available and cheap materials for facilitating learning equipment in meteorology. The phases in this research included design, construction, perfomance analysis and anemometer scaling. The research result using performance analysis indicated that analogous anemometer worked optimally at 2-cm- radius length and 8- cm-diameter of cup ball. The interval measurement of this anemometer was 1,78 - 4,71 m/s.
