Prevalensi Infestasi Pediculus humanus capitis pada Anak Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Langowan Timur

Abstract


Abstract: Pediculus humanus capitis is the cause of pediculosis in humans and has caused universal problems among school-age children. This study was aimed to determine the prevalence of Pediculus humanus capitis infestation among elementary school children at East Langowan. This was a descriptive study with a cross sectional design, namely by identifying Pediculus humanus capitis through direct inspection and microscopy examination. The results showed that of 112 elementary school children at East Langowan, 88 respondents (78.57%) were positive infested with Pediculus humanus capitis. Based on the characteristics of respon-dents infested with Pediculus humanus capitis, GMIM Karondoran Elementary School had the highest percentage based on school origin (81.82%). According to the respondents’s ages, the highest percentage was at the ages of 7 and 12 (100,00%). Moreover, female respondents with short hair had the highest percentage (88.89%) based on the hair length. The prevalence rate of this study was 78.57%. In conclusion, the prevalence rate of this study was 78.57%.

Abstrak: Pediculus humanus capitis merupakan penyebab pedikulosis pada manusia dan telah menyebabkan masalah universal bagi anak-anak usia sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prevalensi infestasi Pediculus humanus capitis pada anak sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Langowan Timur. Jenis penelitian ialah deskriptif dengan desain potong lintang, yaitu dengan mengidentifikasi Pediculus humanus capitis melalui pemeriksaan inspeksi secara langsung pada anak sekolah dasar dan pemeriksaan mikroskop. Hasil penelitian memper-lihatkan dari 112 anak sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Langowan Timur, didapatkan 88 anak (78,57%) positif terinfestasi Pediculus humanus capitis. Dari karakteristik anak sekolah yang terinfestasi Pediculus humanus capitis, SD GMIM Karondoran memiliki persentase tertinggi berdasarkan asal sekolah (81,82%). Menurut usia anak, persentase tertinggi yaitu usia 7 tahun dan 12 tahun (100,00%). Karakteristik lainnya yaitu anak dengan rambut pendek memiliki persentase tertinggi (88,89%) berdasarkan panjang rambut. Point prevalence rate dari pene-litian ini yaitu 78,57%. Simpulan penelitian ini ialah point prevalence rate sebesar 78,57%.
