Each of submitted manuscript will be reviewed before accepted for publication. Review's process will be done in two stages, i.e.:

Stage 1: Preliminary Review - it is an initial editorial review (also known as Desktop Review) conducted by the editor in chief -; review on writing format and completeness of the manuscript (eg, letters, pictures and tables, references, and number of pages), resulting in either a decision to send for peer review (Stage 2) or an editorial rejection.

Stage 2: Advanced Review; in-depth review of the feasibility of the manuscript for publication. Review will be conducted using a double blind peer-reviewed system. Two reviewers will be assigned
by the editor-in-chief from the journal reviewers. The author may suggest an external reviewer, if so, the external reviewer will be the third reviewer for the manuscript.

Journal History

The journal was firstly published in the Regular Edition (Vol. 1, No. 1) in April 2013, under management of the Graduate Program of Sam Ratulangi University (UNSRAT). At that time, JASM was published in the form of regular edition through print media (ISSN 2337-4403) and online (e-ISSN 2337-5000).

In April 2015, JASM was managed by the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of UNSRAT (specifically in Master Program of Aquatic Science) in the publication of Vol. 3, No. 1 (April 2015).

In 2016, JASM collaborated and was sponsored by the Indonesia Aquatic Resources Management Association (Asosiasi Pengelola Sumber Daya Perairan Indonesia/SIPESUAR).

Since 2017, JASM was re-managed by the Graduate Program of UNSRAT. And, since then, in line with development of online media and considering of easier access and distribution of wider publications, starting from Vol. 5, No. 1 (April 2017), JASM was published only by using an open system through online media (e-ISSN 2337-5000) using Open Journal System (OJS).

At present, JASM is increasingly improving its management system, both the using of open journal system (OJS) and publication quality.
