EFEKTIFITAS LATIHAN ABDOMINAL CRUNCH TERHADAP PENINGKATAN CHEST EXPANSION DAN FUNGSI PARU PADA SUBYEK SEHAT

Abstract

ABSTRACT
Objective: Obtain the benefits of increasing chest expansion and pulmonary function in healthy people after performing abdominal crunch exercises. Method: The research is an experimental research with one group pretest - posttest design. The subjects of this study are students who meet the inclusion criteria to meet the required amount according to the formula. The research subjects performed abdominal crunch exercise, previously performed the same initial assessment of ACSM curl-up test, chest expansion test and lung function test using spirometry. The exercise was given 10 reps and performed 3 sets per session (1 minute break per set), 3 sessions in 1 week, for 4 consecutive weeks. Result: In the Function of Lung Test with Spirometry, there was a significant increase of FVC (p <0.0001) and FEV1 (p <0.0001), also significant in Chest Expansion (p <0.0001) Conclusions: Abdominal crunch exercises improve lung function and chest expansion in healthy subjects.

ABSTRAK
Tujuan: Memperoleh manfaat latihan peningkatanchest expansion dan fungsi paru pada orang sehat setelah melakukan latihan abdominal crunch. Metode: Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan one group pretest – posttest design.Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi sampai memenuhi jumlah yang diperlukan sesuai dengan rumus. Subjek penelitian melakukan latihan abdominal crunch, sebelumnyadilakukan asesmen awal yang sama yaitu tes ACSM curl-up, tes chest expansion dan tes fungsi paru menggunakan spirometri. Latihan diberikan dosis 10 repetisi dan dilakukan sebanyak 3 set per sesi (istirahat 1 menit tiap set), dilakukan 3 sesi dalam 1 minggu, selama 4 minggu berturut-turut. Hasil: Pada Uji Fungsi Paru dengan Spirometri didapatkan  peningkatan FVC (p<0,0001) dan FEV1 (p<0,0001) yang bermakna, juga bermakna pada Chest Expansion (p<0,0001) Kesimpulan: Latihan abdominal crunch meningkatkan fungsi paru dan chest expansion pada subjek sehat.
