HUBUNGAN LAMA KERJA DENGAN KEJADIAN RINITIS ALERGI PADA PEKERJA PABRIK ROTI DI MANADO

Abstract

Abstract:  Allergic rhinitis is an IgE-mediated hypersensitivity of nasal mucosa characterized by nasal pruritus, sneezing, nasal congestion, and clear nasal discharge that occurs as a result of allergen sensitization.  Allergic rhinitis is one of the factors of the decrease of work productivity and financial losses, but the number of studies that discusses the incidence of allergic rhinitis and its relationship to length of work, especially in bakery workers is still small.  This study was aimed to find out the relationship between length of work and the incidence of allergic rhinitis in bakery workers in Manado.  This research is analytic-observational study using cross-sectional study in 30 bakery workers in production division, and using sociodemographic questionnaire, dan ARIA questionnaire as allergic rhinitis diagnostic instrument.  It was found that the incidence of allergic rhinitis in bakery workers was 26,7%.  Statistical analysis using Fisher’s Exact test between the length of work and the incidence of allergic rhinitis showed p value = 0,417 (p < 0,05 for 95% CI).

Abstrak:  Rinitis alergi adalah suatu reaksi hipersensitivitas tipe 1 yang dimediasi oleh IgE pada mukosa hidung yang terjadi akibat sensitisasi alergen, dan menimbulkan gejala berupa pruritus pada hidung, bersin, hidung tersumbat, dan keluarnya sekret yang bening dari hidung.  Rinitis alergi merupakan salah satu faktor penyebab turunnya produktivitas kerja dan kerugian finansial, namun masih sedikit studi yang membahas tentang angka kejadian rinitis alergi dan hubungannya dengan lama kerja, terutama pada pekerja pabrik roti.  Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan lama kerja dengan kejadian rinitis alergi pada pekerja pabrik roti di Manado.  Penelitian ini bersifat studi analitik-observasional menggunakan studi potong lintang pada 30 pekerja pabrik roti bagian produksi, dan menggunakan kuesioner sosiodemografi, dan kuesioner ARIA sebagai instrumen diagnosis rinitis alergi.  Hasil penelitian mendapatkan angka kejadian rinitis alergi pada pekerja pabrik roti sebesar 26,7%, dan melalui uji statistik Fisher’s Exact antara lama kerja dengan kejadian rinitis alergi, didapatkan nilai p = 0,417 (p < 0,05 untuk CI 95%).
