Abstract

Kesehatan Provinsi Sulawesi Utara.
sumur 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16 tercemar bakteri Escherichia coli terdapat 3 sumber
sumur mengandung bakteri Escherichia coli. berdasarkan jenis sumur, 100% sumur gali mengandung
Bakteri Coliform, 92% sumur gali mengandung Bakteri Escherchia coli, dan 43% Sumur bor mengandung
Bakteri Coliform, 29% sumur bor mengandung Bakteri Escherichia coli.

ABSTRACT
Clean water is a right and obligation for the community to meet the needs of their lives in a decent and safe
manner, the use of wells for the use of groundwater in is the most widely used way for rural and urban
communities in Manado to meet their water needs. Residents along the bailang river generally use wells as
a source of water. This study aims to determine the content of Coliform and Escherichia coli bacteria in
wells along the Bailang River in Manado, especially the content of bacteria based on the type of well. The
type of research used is observational research with descriptive design based on laboratory. data retrieval
through observation and measurement using research instruments in the form of meters and check-list
sheets. The number of samples examined 19 Wells namely 12 wells dug and 7 wells deep. The variables in
this study are bacteriological content with total coliform and Escherichia coli parameters through
laboratory examination at UPTD Laboratory Hall of North Sulawesi Provincial Health Office. The results
showed wells 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19 are contaminated with Coliform bacteria but
well 18 still meets quality standards and also wells 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16 are contaminated
with Escherichia coli bacteria there are 3 sources of pollutants that can affect the content of bacteria in
the well water namely river , septic tanks and flood disasters and also the content of bacteria in the well
water can be affected by the physical condition of the well and the depth of the well. It can be concluded
that 79% of wells contain Coliform bacteria and 68% of wells contain Escherichia coli bacteria. based on
the type of well, 100% of dug wells contain Coliform Bacteria, 92% of dug wells contain Escherchia coli
Bacteria, and 43% of deep wells contain Coliform Bacteria, 29% of deep wells contain Escherichia coli
Bacteria.
