Abstract

Fritu Village was originally a resident with a livelihood as a farmer and fisherman. They live simply and subsistence. But since it was built PT. Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park, a company engaged in Nickel mining since 2018, the people of Fritu Village began to experience changes in the social and economic fields.

Most people no longer work in the agricultural and fishing sectors, but prefer to work as employees at PT. IWIP. Even changes in work patterns have changed the values and habits they adhere to. Work as an employee in the industry of PT. IWIP is able to change its life from traditional such as simple living, as it is, not extravagant, not spree has turned into a modernist lifestyle such as consumptive, materialist and others.

The increasing number of people who have worked as employees at PT IWIP has weakened the cultures they adhere to, with changes in people's mindsets and behaviors that are dynamic in taking advantage of opportunities that result in an industrial sector that supports people's lives. Because of course as employees they have an employment contract, which is tied by the rules set by the industry. So their time is more used to work as employees in the industry.

This socioeconomic change occurs due to the desire of the community to improve the economic sector, and industry also provides a wider space for interaction. In addition, the industry changed people's livelihoods from farmers to employee workers.
