ABSTRACT
This study aims at describing the use of minor sentences in the film Captain America: Civil War directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. The writer  used the theory of Charles Hockett (1958) to identify and analize the data that have been found in the film. The focus of this research is the minor sentences in the film Captain America: Civil War directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. The data in this research are minor sentences which obtained from the film. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The result of this research, shows that there are only three types of minor sentences in the film, such as subjectless minor sentence, vocative minor sentence and fragment minor sentence. Aphoristic minor sentence is not found on this research. The amount of the data that are found in the film is 155 minor sentences, which are 21 subjectless minor sentence, 46 vocative minor sentence, 88 fragmen minor sentence.  This study is expected to provide more information about minor sentences to the readers.
