KONJUNGSI BAHASA INGGRIS DAN BAHASA TAGULANDANG (SUATU ANALISIS KONTRASTIF)

Abstract


                                                      ABSTRACT

     This research entitled “Conjunction in English and Tagulandang Languages (Analysis Contrastive)”, is an attempt to contrast conjuction in both languages the form, function and meaning in order to find out the similarities and differences between English and Tagulandang language. The problems of this study are, what is the form, function and meanings of the conjunction English and Tagulandang language and the similarities and differences between them. The method that is used in this research is descriptive method and the data of conjuction were taken from English and Tagulandang languages. The data have been analyzed by using theory of Aarts and Aarts (1982), Nestfield (1957), John and Yates (1982), and Lado (1972). Investigation has been done through the library and field research. The English data have been collected from English grammatical books, Linguistic books, and from internet whereas the Tagulandang data has been collected from the informants. The result of this research shows that English and Tagulandang language have simillarities and differences in form and function. In terms of form and function, there are complex conjunctions in English, whereas in the Tagulandang language there are not complex conjunctions. In term of meaning both English and Tagulandang Language conjunctions have similarities.
