                                                    ABSTRACT

     This research is entitled “An Analysis of Child Abuse as Seen in the Film Insidious: the Last Key (2018)”. It is intended as a requirement to accomplish the bachelor’s degree at Faculty of Humanities Sam Ratulangi University Manado. This research focuses on identifying and classifying the types of child abuse as seen in the film, and the impact of child abuse by the main character Dr. Elise Rainier. This research used descriptive qualitative method by Bogdan and Biklen (1982). The writer used the concept of child abuse by Yvette Brazier (2018) to analyze the types, and the impact of child abuse the writer also used the theory of literature by Wellek and Warren (1949) to identify the intrinsic approach such as the plot, theme, and character. The results of this research showed that there were three types of child abuse, such as physical abuse, emosional abuse, and neglect base on the plot, and the dialogues.
