                                                      ABSTRACT

     This research is entitled “Noun Phrase in The Movie 1917 Directed By Sam Mendes (Descriptive Analysis)”. This research attempts to investigate noun phrase in the film 1917 by Sam Mendes. The method that used research is descriptive method. In this research, the researcher attempts to identify, classify and analyze the internal function and categories of noun phrase in the film 1917 by Sam Mendes. The data were collected from the film 1917 by Sam Mendes. In identifying, classifying and analyzing the data, the researcher uses the theory of Aarts and Aarts (1982). The result shows that there are three internal functions of noun phrase and three sub functions each of it and also fifteen categories applied by the characters in their dialogues. First, head function consists of 37., Second, determiner function consist of 318 utterances. Third, lexical presupposition consist of 219 utterances. This research is expected to give contributions in the development of linguistic studies, particularly in Syntaxis analysis. It is also expected to help the readers to have knowledge on the Noun phrase.
