                                                     ABSTRACT

     This research entitled “Afiks Infleksi pada Lirik Lagu Karya One Direction dalam Album Four”. It is written to identify, classify, and analyze the forms and the functions of inflectional affixes in the lyrics of One Direction’s album Four. The method that used in this research is the descriptive method, and the data of inflectional affixes were taken from album Four by One Direction. The data have been analyzed by using the theories of O’Grady (1992) and Katamba (1993). The forms of the inflectional affixes that have beenfound in the lyrics of One Direction’s album Four are {-s}, {-s/-es}, {-ing}, {-ed}, {-ed/-en} and {-er}. The functions of the inflectional affixes that have been found in the lyrics of One Direction’s album Four are {-s} which function as plural, {-s/es} which function as third singular person, {-ing} which function as progressive, {-ed} which function as past tense, {-ed/-en} which function as past participle, and {-er} which function as comparative. There is no allomorph /-id/ found in past tense {-ed} and there is also no allomorph /-t/ in past participle {-ed/-en} found in the lyrics of One Direction’s album Four. Posessive {-‘s} and superlative {-est} are not found on this album. Progressive {- ing}, past participle {-en}, and comparative {-er} are not devided into several allomorphbecause they only have one allomorph.
