JENIS MODALITAS YANG DIGUNAKAN PADA OSTEOARTRITIS LUTUT DI INSTALASI REHABILITASI MEDIK RSUP PROF. Dr. R. D. KANDOU MANADO

Abstract

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease that is associated with damage to the articular cartilage. There are several risk factors for OA, age, gender, ethnicity, genetics, obesity and metabolic diseases, joint injuries, occupation and sports, abnormal growth and other factors. Some of the modality are often used for reduce pain, joint stiffness and against muscle atrophy on OA of the knee is Ultrasound (US), Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Exercise  therapy.
Methods: Descriptive study with retrospective approach, by collecting medical records of patients with knee OA. Results: 19 patients with knee OA, obtained 201 data with modality that commonly used. For
US obtained 83 (41%), TENS 37 (19%), Exercise 81 (40%). Conclusions: The modality used in knee OA in The Medical Rehabilitation Department of Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado Hospital period January-June 2016 are US 41%, TENS 19%, Exercise 40%.

Latar Belakang: Osteoartritis (OA) merupakan penyakit sendi degeneratif yang berkaitan dengan kerusakan kartilago sendi. Terdapat beberapa faktor risiko OA yaitu, usia, jenis kelamin, suku bangsa, genetik, obesitas dan penyakit metabolik, cedera sendi, pekerjaan dan olahraga, kelainan pertumbuhan dan faktor-faktor lain. Beberapa modalitas yang sering digunakan unutk mengurangi nyeri, kekakuan sendi dan melawan atrofi otot pada OA lutut adalah Ultrasound (US), Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) dan terapi Exercise (terapi latihan). Metode: Penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan retrospektif, dengan cara mengumpulkan rekam medik pasien dengan OA lutut. Hasil: Dari 19 orang pasien dengan OA lutut didapatkan 201 data modalitas yang digunakan, dan didapatkan 83 (41%) modalitas US, 37 (19%) modalitas TENS, 81 (40%) modalitas Exercise. Kesimpulan:
Penggunaan modalitas OA lutut di Instalasi Rehabilitasi Medik RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado periode Januari – Juni 2016 adalah 41% Ultrasound, 19% TENS, 40% Exercise.
