GAMBARAN KECUKUPAN MINERAL MIKRO PADA MAHASISWA SEMESTER 2 FAKULTAS KESEHATAN MASYARAKAT UNIVERSITAS SAM RATULANGI MANADO SELAMA MASA PANDEMI COVID-19
Abstract

ABSTRACT
Mineral is one of the important nutrients needed by the human body. Minerals are divided into two, namely micro minerals and macro minerals. In the human body micro minerals are found only in very small amounts, but have an essential role for life and health. In the current era of the COVID-19 pandemic, mineral nutrition is needed by the body to maintain an optimal immune system. The purpose of this study was to determine the adequacy of micro minerals in semester 2 students of the Faculty of Public Health, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is a descriptive survey with a cross sectional research design, conducted in June - November 2020, at the Faculty of Public Health, Sam Ratulangi University Manado with a total sample of 118 respondents. The research instrument used was a food record form to obtain data on the intake of respondents for 2 days. The results showed that iron sufficiency in semester 2 students was mostly in the deficient category, namely as much as 85.6%, zinc adequacy of semester 2 students was mostly in the poor category, namely as much as 72.9%, manganese adequacy of semester 2 students was mostly included in the category good, namely as much as 43%, the copper adequacy of the second semester students was mostly in the poor category, namely as much as 65.3%. It is hoped that students of the semester 2 of the Faculty of Public Health, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado, especially students whose nutritional adequacy are in the low category, are able to consume nutritionally balanced foods, especially foods that contain micro minerals such as meat, nuts, vegetables, fruits. and milk so that the needs for nutrients, especially micro minerals, are met properly so that the body's immunity is maintained so that it can avoid the transmission of COVID-19 and other diseases. For the next researcher, it is hoped that the factors that can influence the lack of micro mineral intake and micro minerals such as iodine, selenium and flour have not been studied in this study.
