Abstract

Kata Kunci: Escherichia Coli Air Sumur Gali ABSTRACT Escherichia coli is an indicator of water pollution, this causes a decrease in the quality of well water, including the number of Escherichia coli in well water beyond the maximum threshold. Escherichia coli content in aged water used by the community has a major role in the transmission of various diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of Escherichia Coli in dug well water and well construction in Poopoh Village, Tombariri District, Minahasa Regency. This type of research is a laboratory-based descriptive survey research. Where the research aims to study the physical and bacteriological quality of Escherichia coli. The study was conducted during April 2021, and the study was conducted in Poopoh Village, Tombariri District, Minahasa Regency and for sample testing carried out at the UPTD of the Regional Health Laboratory of North Sulawesi. Sampling in this study used a purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 30. Based on the results of the examination conducted at the Regional Health Laboratory UPTD, it showed that of the 30 dug well water samples, there were 26 (86.7%) samples that met the Escherichia Coli requirements while those who did not meet the requirements were 4 (13 ,3%) sample of dug well water. The construction factor of dug wells in Poopoh Village is based on the results that 11 wells (36.7%) meet the requirements and 19 wells (63.3%), with the existing results it can be concluded that the construction of Poopoh village wells does not meet the requirements. Keywords : Escherichia Coli, dug well water
