This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the capture fishery business operated by the KM Cancer 01 vessel at the Bitung Ocean Fishing Port (PPS Bitung). The analysis covers technical, financial, and economic aspects to determine the level of efficiency and profitability of the fishing operation. The data used consist of primary data obtained through direct interviews with the vessel owner, skipper, and crew, as well as secondary data from the Department of Marine and Fisheries and the PPS Bitung management office. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach by calculating operational costs, revenues, net profits, Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR), Payback Period (PP), and Break-Even Point (BEP).
The results show that the fishing business of KM Cancer 01 is feasible and profitable, with an annual revenue of Rp5,168,767,000, operational cost of Rp1,556,743,300, and net profit of Rp3,612,023,700. The B/C Ratio value of 3.3, Payback Period of 0.5 years, and BEP value of Rp434,546,000 (approximately two fishing trips) indicate that this business is economically efficient and viable for continued operation. Improvements in fuel efficiency, catch handling, and marketing strategies are recommended to further enhance profitability and sustainability.
