Abstract

The purpose of this study was to use rainwater, ketapang leaves and kepok banana peels as a culture medium for mosquito larvae 1 mm. Rainwater was filtered using fine sand, small gravel, large gravel, GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) and zeolite. As treatments for mosquito larvae culture media are: treatment A: 3 liters of filtered rainwater, 50 grams of green ketapang leaves and 1 kepok banana peel; treatment B: 3 liters of filtered rain water, 50 grams of yellow ketapang leaves and 1 kepok banana peel; treatment C: 3 liters of filtered rain water, 50 grams of red ketapang leaves and 1 kepok banana peel; treatment D: 3 liters of filtered rainwater, 50 grams of brown ketapang leaves and 1 kepok banana peel, treatment E: 3 liters of filtered rainwater, and treatment F: 3 liters of well water. Mosquito larvae were harvested on size of 1 mm. Measurement of water quality parameters is temperature and pH. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the difference in media had a significant effect (p-value < α) on the cultivation of 1 mm mosquito larvae. Culture of mosquito larvae on 3 liters of rainwater, 50 grams of green ketapang leaves and 1 kepok banana peel gave the best results based on the Tukey test. The results of water quality parameters for temperature were 28°C and pH 6.
