Abstract

Abstract

Research on the composition and density of trepang has been carried out in Talengen Bay, Sangihe District. The objectives of this study are: 1) Knowing the composition and density of the types of trepang in Talengen Bay, Sangihe Islands Regency; 2) Informing the types of local sea trepang that are of economic value are important to cultivate in Talengen Bay waters. The method used in this study is the method of tracking the distribution of trepang at the research site. Identification of macroscopic/external morphology for each species encountered. The data obtained are analyzed to obtain the composition and density of the trepang. 4 types of trepang were found in the waters of Talengen Bay, namely: Holothuria atra, Holothuria scabra, Stichopus herrmanni, and Stichopus horrens.  Based on the composition of the highest type of tram was S. herrmanni had 14 individuals (42.42 %), followed by Holothuria atra 11 individuals (34.4 %), Holothuria scabra 5 individuals (15.15 %), and Stichopus horrens 2 individuals (6.06 %).  While the composition based on stations showed the highest at station 3, namely 12 individuals (37.5%), followed by station 1 with 11 individuals (34.38%), and the lowest at station 2 with 9 individuals (28.13%).  Based on density, namely Holothuria atra 11 individuals, Holothuria scabra 5 individuals, Stichopus herrmanni 14 individuals, and Stichopus horrens 2 individuals. The type of trepang that has high economic value found in Talengen Bay is Holothuria scabra, followed by Stichopus hermanni and Stichopus horrens.
