Perilaku Menjaga Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut pada Mahasiswa Kedokteran Gigi Peminum Kopi dengan Gula Alami

Abstract: Coffee with the addition of sugar have an impact on oral health and will increase the risk of caries. Between the age of 20-34 years, are the largest coffee drinkers and have a high prevalence of caries. This study aimed to find out students’ behavior of maintaining dental and oral health who drink coffee with the addition of sugar. This was a descriptive and observational study with a cross-sectional design. The behavior of maintaining dental and oral health data were obtained by distributing knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) based on 24 questionnaires to 2019 and 2020 class students at Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Trisakti. Students who had good oral health behavior were 63.6%, fair behavior were 31.2%, and poor behavior were 5.2%. In conclusion, students of Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Trisakti, who drink coffee with the addition of natural sugar have good behavior in maintaining good dental and oral health.

Abstrak: Meminum kopi dengan penambahan gula alami memiliki dampak terhadap kesehatan gigi dan mulut terutama dalam meningkatkan risiko terjadinya karies. Pada rentang usia 20-34 tahun tercatat sebagai pengonsumsi kopi terbanyak dan memiliki prevalensi karies yang cukup tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran perilaku menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada mahasiswa peminum kopi dengan gula alami. Jenis penelitian ialah observasional deskriptif yang dilakukan dengan melihat gambaran perilaku menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada subjek penelitian mahasiswa angkatan 2019 dan 2020 di FKG Universitas Trisakti. Alat ukur berupa kuesioner berisi 24 pertanyaan tentang perilaku menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang mencakup aspek pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan dengan kategori baik, cukup, dan kurang. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan perilaku baik sebesar 63,6%, sedang sebesar 31,2%, dan buruk sebesar 5,2%. Simpulan penelitian ini ialah mahasiswa FKG Usakti peminum kopi dengan penambahan gula alami memiliki perilaku yang baik dalam menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut.
