Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan tentang Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut dengan Kebersihan Gigi Anak di SD GMIM Buloh

Abstract: Oral hygiene is a crucial factor in maintaining oral health and preventing various diseases in the oral cavity. Knowledge about dental and oral health is fundamental for maintaining oral hygiene. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about dental and oral health with oral hygiene of children at GMIM Buloh Elementary School. This was an observational and analytical study with a cross-sectional design. Subjects were selected using the total sampling method. Children's dental and oral hygiene was assessed using the OHI-S index, and the level of knowledge was measured using a questionnaire with a Guttman scale. The results showed that related to knowledge about dental and oral health, 14.71% had good knowledge, 61.76% had sufficient knowledge, and 23.53% had poor knowledge. Dental hygiene was found to be good in 14.7% of the subjects, moderate in 64.71%, and poor in 20.58%. Bivariate analysis using the Spearman statistical test showed a p-value of 0.01 (p<0.05). In conclusion, there is a relationship between the level of knowledge about dental and oral health with the oral hygiene of children at GMIM Buloh Elementary School.

Abstrak: Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut sering dialami oleh anak-anak. Kebersihan gigi dan mulut merupakan salah satu faktor yang sangat penting dalam menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut serta mencegah terjadinya berbagai penyakit dalam rongga mulut. Pengetahuan tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan hal dasar untuk menjaga kebersihan gigi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut dengan kebersihan gigi anak di SD GMIM Buloh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan desain potong lintang. Pengambilan subjek menggunakan total sampling. Pemeriksaan kebersihan gigi anak dilakukan menggunakan indeks OHI-S. Tingkat pengetahuan diukur menggunakan kuesioner dengan skala Guttman. Hasil penelitian terkait pengetahuan tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut menunjukkan kategori baik sebanyak 14,71%, cukup sebanyak 61,76%, dan kurang sebanyak 23,53%. Kebersihan gigi ditemukan subjek dengan kategori baik sebanyak 14,7%, sedang sebanyak 64,71%, dan buruk sebanyak 20,58%. Hasil analisis bivariat menggunakan uji statistik Spearman menunjukkan nilai p=0,01 (p<0,05). Simpulan penelitian ini yaitu terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut dengan kebersihan gigi anak di SD GMIM Buloh.
