GAMBARAN STATUS KEBERSIHAN MULUT SISWA SD KATOLIK ST. AGUSTINUS KAWANGKOAN

Abstract: Oral health problems are influenced by many factors, one of them is personal attitude. School aged children need special attention since they are still in growth and development process, and still depend on adult people to maintain their oral hygiene. Caries of deciduous teeth will make bad impacts on the growth of their permanent teeth. This study aimed to obtain the oral hygiene status of students in Catholic Elementary School St. Agustinus, Kawangkoan. Total respondents were 65 student. Data of oral hygiene were obtained by using OHI-S index. The results showed that there were 37% of students belonged to good category; 60% of students to fair category; and 3% to poor category. Conclusion: Most of the students in Catholic Elementary School St. Agustinus, Kawangkoan belonged to fair category of oral hygiene.

Abstract: Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada masyarakat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya ialah perilaku. Anak usia sekolah perlu mendapat perhatian khusus karena pada usia ini anak sedang menjalani proses tumbuh kembang, dan masih sangat bergantung kepada orang dewasa dalam hal menjaga kesehatan dan kebersihan mulut. Gigi susu yang terkena karies akan memengaruhi pertumbuhan gigi permanen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran status kebersihan misturb the development of permanent teeth.ulut siswa SD Katolik St. Agustinus Kawangkoan. Responden penelitian ialah seluruh siswa berjumlah 65 anak. Data status kebersihan mulut siswa diperoleh melalui pemeriksaan status kebersihan menggunakan indeks OHI-S. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa 37% responden termasuk kategori baik; 60% kategori sedang; dan 3% kategori buruk. Simpulan: Gambaran status kebersihan mulut sebagian besar siswa SD Katolik St. Agustinus Kawangkoan termasuk dalam kategori sedang.
