TRADISI MELAUT PADA MASYARAKAT KELURAHAN LELEWI KECAMATAN PULAU BATANG DUA PROVINSI MALUKU UTARA
Abstract
Traditions of going to sea in the life of coastal communities include: Fishermen and Transportation which is carried out in accordance with customs. The people of Lelewi Village, Batang Dua Island District, Ternate City, before activities using a boat is a continuous tradition that existed in ancient times and they still obey until now, obedience and belief in the essence is also an endeavor or an effort to avoid unwanted things from happening at sea that can threaten the safety of fishermen. Such efforts or actions show that the tradition of going to sea related to the safety of the community itself is very important than anything else, before traveling the community must look at the signs or conditions at that time such as seeing, weather by looking at the moon, wind (wave season or south wind). If the weather or conditions at the time are good then people can travel, if the weather is bad then the trip is postponed.
The tradition of going to sea in the people of Lelewi Village consists of the tradition of going to sea fishing, the tradition of going to sea to the city, the tradition of going to sea to plantations, the tradition of going to sea transporting crops, the tradition of going to sea crossing from ships to the coast and the factors that influence the tradition of going to sea in Lelewi Village are age, work experience, education, distance to sea, skills, seasons, fishing gear, boats and fuel.
