Tanjung Balak merupakan daerah pesisir yang terletak di Desa Palaes, Kecamatan Likupang Barat, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis lamun apa saja yang terdapat di Pesisir Desa Palaes dan menganalisis keanekaragaman lamun yang terdapat di Pesisir Desa Palaes. Hasil penelitian terdapat enam jenis lamun yang ditemukan yaitu Enhalus acroides, Thalassodendron ciliatum, Thalassia hemprichii, Cimodocea serrulata, Halophila minor, dan Halophila ovalis. Jumlah individu yang ditemukan adalah 1.558 Individu. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman di Pesisir Desa Palaes adalah 0,27 nilai ini dikategorikan sebagai keanekaragaman rendah.
