Abstract

                                                   ABSTRACT

     The title of this research is “Jenis dan Makna Simbol dalam Upacara Pernikahan Keluarga Kerajaan Inggris dan Bolango (Sebuah Analisis Kontrastif)â€. The study is an attempt to describe and analyze the contrast of symbols in England and Bolango which focuses on Royal wedding ceremony in relations to theirs patterns and classes in both cultures. Royal wedding ceremony is a part of cultures and traditions while symbols are the basis of cultures. Symbols is used as a tool of communication guides to broadening the horizons of cultural insight in humans. This research used descriptive method. The data were taken from Library research and field research, in this case choosing informants and giving the interview. The data were collected, analyze, and described to find out the forms of Symbols in royal wedding ceremony the writer used theory Peirce (2010). After that, the meaningof symbols were analyzed by using Glasser’s theory (1972). The result of this study is Symbols in royal wedding ceremony in England and Bolango each have five settled symbols that has been contrasted using Lado’s (1957) theory.
