PENGABAIAN ANAK SEPERTI TERCERMIN DALAM NOVEL A LITTLE PRINCESS KARYA FRANCES HUDGSON BURNETT

Abstract

                                             ABSTRACT

 

     This research entitled “Child Neglect as Reflected in the Novel A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett†is the requirement for the Sarjana Sastra degree in the Faculty of Humanities Sam Ratulangi University. The writer use Robert’s theory to identify psychology of the main character. Boswell theory use to explore the child neglect that happened to Sara Crewe. This research use descriptive qualitative method. Two approaches are applied in analyzing the data: they are intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. The intrinsic is used to identify the characters. The extrinsic one aims at analyzing the child neglect, the causes and the impact. The purpose of this research is to identify, analyze, and describe child neglect and its causes in the novel A Little Princess. The result of this research is to improve the knowledge of readers about the causes and resolve of child neglect that lately happened in human life.
