                                                     ABSTRACT

     This research entitled “Analysis of Taboo Words in English and Sangihe Language Siau dialect used by the People of the Manado Tua island†is analysed and describe in sociolinguistic field. The objective of this research are to identify, classify and describe the types and meaning of taboow words and to analyse the differences and similarities. This research used a descriptive method. The data are analysed using theory of Wardhaugh (1986:230) and contrasted to find out the differences and similarities using Lado’s theory (1957). The significances of this research are theoretically, this research is expected to help and facilitate people who wants to learn about taboo words in Sangihe language Siau dialect. The result of this research shows that taboo words found in Sangihe language Siau dialect were classified into eight types, they are sex, bodily function, animal, excretion, death, supernatural, cuisine.
