                                                         ABSTRACT

       This research is entitled “Dominant Personality of Charlie as seen in the film ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 2005’ by Warner Bros Picture ''. This research aimed to analyze the dominant personality of Charlie by analyzing the dialogues and actions. The writer used the method in this paper is descriptive-qualitative. The writer collects the data by reading scripts, watching the film and marking them. The writer focused the dialogues of the film, and then followed by analyzing the character through to identify and analyze the main character by using the psychology approach by Florence Littauer (1992). This is a children book by Roald Dahl, first published in 1964, and adapted in the film on 2005 by Warner Bros Picture. This film talks about Charlie who wins a golden ticket to tour the mysterious and magical chocolate factory of Willy Wonka. The result of this research showed two personalities of Charlie as reflected in the film. Those are sanguine and Melancholy. And the dominant personality of Charlie is sanguine. It is reflected by six types of personality from Charlie in the film.
