Background:Patients with heart failure commonly experience a variety of symptoms that significantly affect their quality of life. The most frequent physical symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue, orthopnea, peripheral edema, sleep disturbances, and occasionally chest pain. Among both inpatients and outpatients, these complaints may arise during physical activity as well as at rest. The occurrence of such physical problems is influenced by several factors, including ineffective dietary patterns, insomnia, limited physical activity, non-adherence to pharmacological therapy, and the presence of comorbidities. In addition to physical symptoms, patients with heart failure may also experience emotional symptoms, such as anxiety and depression. These psychological conditions are often associated with prolonged fatigue and sleep disturbances, which further diminish the patient’s overall quality of life. Objective: This study aimed to describe fatigue, sleep quality, and quality of life among patients with chronic heart failure at Prof. Dr. R.D. Kandou General Hospital, Manado. A descriptive research design was employed with a sample of 140 patients diagnosed with chronic heart failure. Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents were elderly, male, unemployed, had been living with the condition for less than 10 years, had a low ejection fraction, experienced fatigue, and reported poor sleep quality. However, most patients demonstrated a good quality of life across four domains: environmental, physical health, social, and psychological. Conclusion: patients with chronic heart failure commonly experience high levels of fatigue and poor sleep quality, yet are still able to maintain a relatively good quality of life.
