PENGARUH YOGA TERHADAP STABILITAS CORE MUSCLE PADA PETUGAS KESEHATAN DENGAN NYERI PUNGGUNG BAWAH MEKANIK KRONIK
Abstract
Introduction : This study aims to analyze the effect of yoga on core muscle stability by measuring muscle activity using Chattanoga pressure biofeedback in units of mmHg in health workers with chronic mechanical low back pain. Methods : This research is an experimental study with one group pre test – post test design which was conducted at the Medical Rehabilitation Installation of Prof. RSUP. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado from October to November 2023. There were 22 health worker subjects with chronic mechanical low back pain who participated in this study for 4 weeks divided into 8 yoga practice sessions with 1 subject dropping out because they did not attend 2 yoga sessions and the final assessment . Yoga treats are given for 1 hour for 1 practice session. Assessment of core muscle stability was carried out using Chattanoga pressure biofeedback to assess the activity of the transversus abdominis, rectus abdominis, internal oblique, and external oblique muscles before and after giving yoga. Results : There is a very significant difference between the mean value of Core Muscle Stability before and after Yoga Practice (t = 10.156 with p value <0.001). If before practicing Yoga the average value = 18.52, then after practicing Yoga the average value decreases to = 8.81. So that there is a very significant increase in Core Muscle stability as shown in the decrease in the value of Chattanoga pressure biofeedback after yoga practice. Conclusion : Yoga can improve core muscle stability in health workers with chronic mechanical low back pain by using Chattanoga pressure biofeedback.
