Abstract

Impaired hand function is one of the post-stroke obstacles to carry out daily activities so that a lot of research in the field of rehabilitation focuses on handling post-stroke hand function improvement. Music supported therapy (MST) for hand function is usually achieved by playing specially designed instructions. Movements made by the patient can facilitate hand coordination and strengthen the impaired grip of the hand. This study was The Control Group Pre-Post Test Group Design. Assessment of hand function is carried out with The Wolf Motor Function Test (WMFT) before the training session begins. 11 research subjects were given Music Supported Therapy training with Xylophone intervention with a duration of 45 minutes twice a week for 8 weeks in groups of 3 or 2 people for a total of 12 sessions. One additional session is provided for sessions missed due to vacation or illness. Group sessions are set up for a 5-minute introduction and the therapist leads music-supported upper-limb and trunk stretches, and focus group discussions about the experiences of living with stroke. Rest is given as needed. There were 11 participants (9 male, 2 female). Show that there is a very significant difference between the median alues of wolf motor function tests before and after administration of Music Support Therapy, especially with ylophone (Z = -3.207 with p-value = 0.001). So that there was a very significant increase after being given Music Supported Therapy, especially with the xylophone on hand function after subacute stroke. There is a very significant increase after being given Music Supported Therapy, especially with the xylophone on and function after subacute stroke.
