Hubungan Kecemasan dengan Variabilitas Denyut Nadi dan Tekanan Darah pada Mahasiswa Program Studi Profesi Dokter

Abstract: Anxiety can affect the autonomic nervous system and cause physiological changes such as increased blood pressure and decreased pulse rate variability. Medical profession students often experience high academic workload that can trigger anxiety and influence physiological functions. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between anxiety, pulse rate variability, and blood pressure among students of the Medical Profession Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sam Ratulangi Manado. This was an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design involving 70 students as respondents selected through purposive sampling. Anxiety levels were measured using the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), heart rate variability using Polar Verity Sense, and blood pressure using Beurer BM 28. Data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation (α = 0.05). The results showed that most respondents were female (58.6%) with an average age of 22 years. Most respondents had high anxiety levels (42.9%), low pulse rate variability (60%), and elevated blood pressure (35.7%). A weak significant negative correlation was found between anxiety and pulse rate variability (p=0.031; r=-0.258), and a weak significant positive correlation between anxiety and both systolic (p=0.011; r=0.302) and diastolic blood pressure (p=0.014; r=0.293). On conclusion, that higher anxiety is associated with lower pulse rate variability and higher blood pressure.

Abstrak: Kecemasan dapat memengaruhi sistem saraf otonom dan menimbulkan perubahan fisiologis seperti peningkatan tekanan darah serta penurunan variabilitas denyut nadi. Mahasiswa program profesi kedokteran memiliki beban akademik tinggi yang dapat memicu kecemasan dan berdampak pada fungsi fisiologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan antara kecemasan dengan variabilitas denyut nadi dan tekanan darah pada mahasiswa Program Profesi Dokter Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sam Ratulangi Manado. Studi observasional analitik dengan desain potong lintang ini melibatkan 70 responden yang dipilih. Tingkat kecemasan diukur dengan Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), variabilitas denyut jantung menggunakan Polar Verity Sense dan tekanan darah dengan Beurer BM 28. Analisis data dilakukan dengan korelasi Pearson (α=0,05). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan mayoritas responden perempuan (58,6%) berusia rerata 22 tahun. Sebagian besar memiliki kecemasan tinggi (42,9%), variabilitas denyut nadi rendah (60%), dan tekanan darah meningkat (35,7%). Ditemukan korelasi negatif lemah bermakna antara kecemasan dan variabilitas denyut nadi (p=0,031; r=-0,258), serta korelasi positif lemah bermakna antara kecemasan dan tekanan darah sistolik (p=0,011; r=0,302) maupun diastolik (p=0,014; r=0,293). Simpulan penelitian ini ialah peningkatan kecemasan berhubungan dengan penurunan variabilitas denyut nadi dan peningkatan tekanan darah.
