ABSTRACT
Moringa leaf (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) contains flavonoids, alkaloids and phenols which are capable of providing antibacterial effects. The objective of this study was to formulate the extract of Moringa leaf, to test the quality according to the requirements and to test its antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria by observing the formation of inhibiting zone of concentration of 5%, 10% and 15%. The method used is laboratory experimental. The results showed that the leaves of Moringacan be formulated as ointment preparation and meet the requirements of ointment test quality, such as organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test and spreading test. The results of the antibacterial activity test showed that the ointment preparation from the ethanol extracts of leaves of Moringawith concentration of 5%, 10% and 15% could inhibit the growth of bactery with the best inhibitory concentration at 15% with an average diameter of inhibition of 22.5 mm.

ABSTRAK
Daun Kelor (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) mengandung flavonoid, alkaloid dan fenol yang mampu memberikan efek antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi sediaan salep ekstrak daun Kelor, menguji mutu sesuai dengan persyaratan dan menguji aktivitas antibakterinya terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureusdengan mengamati terbentuknya zona hambat konsentrasi 5%, 10% dan 15%. Metode yang digunakan ialah eksperimental laboratorium. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daun Kelor dapat diformulasikan sebagai sediaan salep dan memenuhi persyaratan uji mutu sediaan salep, diantaranya uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji pH dan uji daya sebar. Hasil Uji aktivitas antibakterinya menunjukkan bahwa sediaan salep ekstrak etanol daun Kelor dengan konsentrasi 5%, 10% dan 15% dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakeri dan daya hambat yang paling baik yaitu pada konsentrasi 15% dengan diameter rata-rata 22,5 mm.Â
