Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the elastic modulus of composite materials with several Damar-Glass-Metal mix variations. The method used involves making composite materials from damar powder, glass powder, and metal powder with a particle size of 100 mesh. The composition variations are 30% damar : 20% glass : 50% metal, 50% damar : 20% glass : 30% metal, and 40% damar : 20% glass : 40% metal. The specimen-making process includes sieving, weighing, mixing, molding, compacting, heating at 100°C, cooling, and preparing the specimens. Bending tests are carried out using a span length of 60 mm. Then testing is done on the bending test machine available in the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory at Unsrat.

The test results show that the elastic modulus varies depending on the composite material mixture. The change in the elastic modulus is non-linear relative to the mixture composition in the composite material.
