Kelurahan Talete 1, Tomohon Tengah, memiliki potensi hortikultura besar, namun menurun akibat hama dan penggunaan pestisida sintetik yang tidak sesuai aturan. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian, dilakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan bagi 30 petani untuk menerapkan teknologi ramah lingkungan berbasis organik. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas hasil tani, mengurangi ketergantungan pada pestisida sintetik, serta memperluas pengetahuan petani tentang pertanian organik dan penerapan teknologi tepat guna. Kegiatan berlangsung Juni–September 2024 meliputi survei awal, penyusunan rencana, pelatihan intensif, serta monitoring rutin di lapangan. Hasilnya, 90% petani mampu membuat pupuk organik, 85% menggunakan agen hayati, dan 80% menerapkan rotasi tanaman. Penggunaan pestisida sintetik berkurang hingga 50%, produksi hortikultura meningkat 15–20%, dan 70% petani melaporkan hasil panen lebih tinggi. Selain itu, desa berkembang sebagai agrowisata organik, meningkatkan daya saing, membuka peluang wisata petik sayur, menambah pendapatan, serta memberi dampak positif bagi keseimbangan ekosistem dan keberlanjutan lingkungan.

Abstract

Talete 1 Village, Central Tomohon, has significant horticultural potential, but productivity has declined due to pest attacks and improper use of synthetic pesticides. Through this community service program, training and mentoring were provided for 30 farmers to adopt environmentally friendly organic-based agricultural technologies. The program aimed to improve the quality and quantity of agricultural yields, reduce dependence on synthetic pesticides, and expand farmers’ knowledge of organic farming and the application of appropriate technology. The activities, conducted from June to September 2024, included preliminary surveys, planning, intensive training, and regular field monitoring. As a result, 90% of farmers were able to produce organic fertilizers, 85% applied biological control agents, and 80% implemented crop rotation. The use of synthetic pesticides decreased by up to 50%, horticultural production increased by 15–20%, and 70% of farmers reported higher yields. Furthermore, the village developed as an organic-based agro-tourism destination, enhancing competitiveness, creating opportunities for “pick-your-own” agritourism, increasing income, and contributing positively to ecosystem balance and environmental sustainability.
