Abstract

An initiative to explore the use of the biological agent Bacillus thuringiensis as a biofertilizer was conducted with a farmer group in Talete 1 Urban Village, Tomohon City, comprising approximately ten members with low levels of formal education. This community service activity aimed to address the farmers' persistent reliance on chemical fertilizers. The primary objective and output of the project was the production of a Bacillus thuringiensis-based biofertilizer, alongside enhancing the farmers' ability to utilize this eco-friendly product. To achieve these goals and resolve the identified issues, the project employed a combination of mentoring, extension services, and demonstration plots. The project successfully implemented mentoring, extension, and demonstration activities focused on the use of B. thuringiensis as an environmentally friendly biofertilizer.
