Strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit of vocational high school (SMK) students is a strategic step in addressing the challenges of the job market and creating opportunities for independent business ventures. This study aims to enhance the entrepreneurial mindset of SMK students in Pamekasan through training on the green synthesis of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles, applied as an eco-friendly sunscreen base. The training methods included lectures, demonstrations, laboratory practices, and interactive discussions. Plant extracts from local resources were used as natural reducing agents in the synthesis process. The results showed an increase in students’ knowledge of nanotechnology, environmental awareness, and entrepreneurial skills, as evidenced by their ability to produce prototypes of ZnO-based sunscreen. In conclusion, this training not only introduced environmentally.
ABSTRAK
Penguatan jiwa kewirausahaan siswa SMK menjadi langkah strategis dalam menghadapi tantangan dunia kerja dan menciptakan peluang usaha mandiri. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan semangat kewirausahaan siswa SMK di Pamekasan melalui pelatihan green sintesis nanopartikel seng oksida (ZnO) yang diaplikasikan sebagai bahan dasar tabir surya ramah lingkungan. Metode pelatihan meliputi ceramah, demonstrasi, praktik laboratorium, dan diskusi interaktif. Bahan yang digunakan dalam sintesis adalah ekstrak tanaman lokal sebagai agen reduktor alami. Hasil pelatihan telah menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan siswa tentang nanoteknologi, kesadaran lingkungan, serta keterampilan kewirausahaan, yang terlihat dari kemampuan mereka menghasilkan prototipe tabir surya berbasis ZnO. Kesimpulannya, pelatihan ini tidak hanya memperkenalkan teknologi ramah lingkungan, tetapi juga menjadi sarana efektif dalam menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha siswa melalui pemanfaatan potensi lokal berbasis inovasi ilmiah.
