Abstract

Efforts to minimize the generation of waste and residual waste from fishing gear need to be done because until now there are still many people who do not know about it. Many piles of leftover fishing gear appeared in the harbor pond, several piles of garbage were also found in several places, namely beside the port there were also the remains of damaged ships around the port dock. This study aims to determine the distribution of waste left over from fishing gear in coastal fishing ports. (PPP) Tumumpa Manado City, to identify the type and amount of waste left over from fishing gear at the Tumumpa Coastal Fishery Port of Manado City. This research is based on a descriptive method where location data and data are collected by placing a quadrant in the port area where there are remnants of fishing gear and gear, then counting the types of numbers in that quadrant. Waste management at PPP Tumumpa was carried out by interviewing, managers, fishermen using the port and respondents at PPP Tumumpa. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive analysis techniques, namely explaining the results of research in the form of observations made by researchers, the type and amount of waste to be processed statistically with cross tabulation and graphic images. The results of this study indicate that the distribution of waste at the PPP Tumumpa Manado City, is in the harbor pool, in the dock environment, and around the office. The rest of the API waste types are 30%, while the other waste is 70%.
