ABSTRACT
 
 
This study is an attempt to describe and identify the English language and Wayoli language which focus on pronouns. The methods applied by the writer in this research are analyzed and described the data by using the  theory of Aarts and Aarts and Marcela Frank and then, make a constrastive study to find out the similarities and differences of pronouns in terms of form and posistion in a sentence by using Lado’s method. The result of this research showed that both English has egiht pronouns, namely: personal pronoun, reflexive pronoun, demonstrative pronoun, possessive pronoun, relative pronoun, interrogative pronoun, resiprocal pronoun and “so” and “one” pronoun.Wayoli language has seven kinds of pronouns, namely: personal pronoun, reflexive pronoun, demonstrative pronoun, possessive pronoun, relative pronoun, interrogative pronoun, resiprocal pronoun. The functions of pronouns in these languages are various. English and Wayoli language have first, second and third person singular and plural. The pronouns in sentences are usually preceding the verb phrase and following the verb phrase in the terms of position. But, sometimes pronouns in Wayoli language preceding and following noun phrase also. Basically, there is no pronouns “so” and “one” in Wayoli language.
