The theories which used in this research is Burling (1970) and Murdock‟s (1949) theories to analyze the kinship terms, and theory of Lado (1957) to contrast both languages. The English data were taken from sociolinguistic books whereas the data about the kinship terms in Siau language were collected from the informants. Data were taken by interviewing the informants who know well about Siau language and can speak Siau language fluently. The result of this research shows that the kinship terms in both languages are divided into consanguineal and afinal terms which are differentiated between sex, level of generation, lineage, and age. Similarities in terms of sex namely, „mother‟ in English and „inang‟ in Siau language and the similarities of generation for example in English „grandfather‟ and „yopa‟ in Siau language. Sex in English and Siau language is very important things to know because there are some variety of different terms to express differences in the sex of the relatives concerned. Lineage in English and Siau language refers to the collateral only because the relatives are from the same ancestor but do not from one direct descendent. The difference between two languages is that the principle of age is not too important thing in English, but it is very important in Siau Language to distinguish the older and the younger. Affinal kinship terms in English have two generation above the ego and two generations below the ego, while Siau language has four generation above and four generation below the ego.
