PENGGUNAAN DISKUSI KELOMPOK KECIL DALAM MENGAJAR KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA BAHASA INGGRIS DI SMPN 1 RANTEPAO

Abstract

                                                 ABSRACT

          This research entitled “The Use of Small Group Discussion in Teaching English Speaking Skill at SMPN 1 Rantepao. This research attempted to describe the use of small group discussion in teaching English speaking skill at SMPN 1 Rantepao, and to anlyze the improvement of students’ speaking skill. The research was undertaken the researcher and the students of VIII.3 SMPN 1 Rantepao. To complete the data, the researcher use a classroom action research, it was done in pre-cycle, cycle 1 and cycle 2. Every cycle consist of planning, acting, observation and reflecting. The intstruments of this research were speaking test and observation sheet. Based on the results o observations, the use of small group discussion strategies in teaching English speaking skill in class VIII.3 is well and it can improve students’ speaking skill where the the average score of students in precycle is 62.13, cycle 1 is 69.87 and cycle 2 81.13.
