Abstract


                                                 ABSTRACT

     This research entitled “Emotion of The Main Character in The Siren Novel by Kiera Cass: Psychological Literary Analysis”. It is written to fulfill a requirement to accomplish the bachelor’s degree in English Department, Faculty of Humanities, Sam Ratulangi University. The purposes of research are to identify, classify, analyze and describe the emotion of the main character in The Siren novel. The study used descriptive qualitative method. The writer used classification of emotion theory by Krech (1969) and character theory by Stanton (1965). The result of the research shows that the main character in The Siren novel has all the classification of emotion, such as primary emotion that consist of joy, anger, fear, grief. Emotions pertaining to sensory stimulation consist of pain, disgust, delights. Emotions pertaining to self-appraisal consist of feeling of success and failure, pride and shame, guilt and remorse. Emotions pertaining to other people consist of love and hate. The emotions are shown through the words, behavior, conversation, and action of the main character.
