                                                ABSTRACT

This reserach aimed at analyzing the disorganized speech in the main character of schizophrenia in the film Black Swan. The writer took schizophrenia as the main topic in this study. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder caused by an imbalance in the levels of neurotransmitters in the brain. The brain has an important role in expressing a language, so this affects the content of the message to be conveyed. This study observed the type of disorganized speech experienced by Nina as the main character in the film Black Swan. There are two objectives in this research; first, to identify the types of disorganized speech found in Nina's speech in the film. The second, objectives was to analyze the causes of Nina's disorganized speech in the process of delivering information. The writer used a qualitative method because it examined the utterances used by Nina in the Black Swan film. The data were collected by comparing the film transcript with the speech produced by Nina. The writer classified the types of disorganized speech in people who have schizophrenia. This classification refers to Liddle et al (2002) theory. The writer also used Hartney's (2020) theory as a supporting theory about hallucinations. The findings of this research indicated that of the twenty utterances only Nina uttered, 6 types of speech were disorganized speech. Based on Liddle et al (2002) theory, these types poverty of speech, weakening of goal, loosenes, peculiar sentence, distraction, and non-logical reasoning (odd logic). The 2 types of disorganized speech that Nina does not experience in her speech are perseveration of ideas, and peculiar words. Further findings show that Nina's disorganized speech use of language is influenced by hallucinations, so that she often has a wrong understanding in interacting.
