                                                      ABSTRACK

     This author takes the topic of the History of West Kao District in North Halmahera Regency in 2006-2020. In this writing, the writer uses the historical method which consists of four stages, namely heuristics, analytical criticism, interpretation, and historiography. In addition to using the historical method, in this case the author also uses social science to help enable a sharper analysis and interpretation to answer what is the problem in a writing. This scientific work contains the history of the sub-district which was opened in 2006, before the West Kao sub-district was developed, the condition of the community is very unfortunate because of the backwardness in terms of infrastructure development. Then after the West Kao sub-district was developed, the development was very good because it was more focused on the villages, namely physical and non-physical development, so that the people of West Kao sub-district could enjoy the facilities and infrastructure that had been built by the government.

                                                        ABSRAK

     Penulis ini mengambil topik tentang Sejarah Kecamatan Kao Barat di Kabupaten Halmahera Utara tahun 2006-2020. Dalam penlisan ini penulis menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri ada empat tahapan yaitu heuristik, kritik analisah, interprestasi, dan historiografi. Selain menggunakan metode sejarah, dalam hal ini penulis juga menggunakan ilmu sosial untuk bantu memungkinkan penganalisaan dan penginterprestasian yang lebih tajam untuk menjawab apa yang menjadi masalah dalam suatu penulisan. Karya ilmiah ini berisi tentang sejarah kecamatan yang di mekarkan pada tahun 2006, sebelum kecamatan Kao Barat di mekarkan kondisi masyarakat sangat di sayangkan karena keterbelakangan dari segi pembangunan infrastruktur. Kemudian setelah kecamatan Kao Barat di mekarkan perkembangan peningkatannya sangat cukup baik karena lebih terfokus pada Desa-Desa yaitu pembangunan fisik maupun non fisik terus dilakukan sehingga masyarakat kecamatan Kao Barat dapat menikmati sarana dan prasarana yang telah di bangun oleh pemerintah tersebut.
