                                                    ABSTRACT

     This research entitled “Forn of Polite Request in English and Bintauna : A Contrastive Analysis“ The problem of this research is what are the forms of polite request in English and Bintauna language and what are the similarities as well as differences found in both languages? In terms of methodology, this research has been done through liberary and field research by using descriptive and contrastive method. The data of both languages are analyzed based on the theories of Leech and Lado. The result of research consist two points, first, English and Bintauna language both have similarities and differences. The similarities, for examples, can be found in the polite higher of language. The polite higher of language have the same meaning English and Bintauna language have sentences pattern wich are used to request the audience to do something according to what the speaker asked polite request forms of English and Bintauna language have order, command, and teasing, meanings for the audience to do something. The differences of polite request of two language contained in their forms. Another differences is polite request patterns as on invitation to the hearers to do something with the speaker is only found in English.
