Abstract


Abstract: Educational success of students in school can be seen from the academic achievement in school. Pencermin of learning achievement is the student learning efforts. Educational success is a shared responsibility between the family (parents), community members and government. The family is the first social institution which is recognized by the child and family can be implanted in the attitudes that may affect subsequent child development. The purpose of this study is to examine and reveal Christian junior high student achievement Tabitha Manado in terms of family socioeconomic status. Research methodology was qualitative methods. Data were obtained through interviews and observation techniques. Determined sample of 20 informants consisting of homeroom teachers, students and representatives of parents. Data were analyzed descriptively through the stages of organizing the data, grouping by categories, themes and patterns of response, testing assumptions or existing problems of the data, looking for an alternative explanation for the data and writing the results of the study. From this study it can be concluded that good learning achievements gained Manado Tabitha Christian junior high school students due to socio-economic conditions for a good family. It is recommended that parents can provide a motivation for intensive and continuous learning children. Due to the presence of a motivation that intensive and continuous expected will automatically expand and improve children's learning achievement. For the parents of low education levels are expected to increase their insight and knowledge in a way often follow good scientific activities in the surrounding environment or to other places. As for other ways to add insight and knowledge by reading books often concerned with education, newspapers, magazines, and so on in order to help guide and encourage and direct their children in order to obtain good learning performance.Keywords : Student Achievement, Family Socioeconomic Status.
