Abstract

Indonesia is known as a maritime country that is rich in various marine biota, both flora and fauna, for example such as seagrass, in the world there are 60 species of seagrass and 12 species are found in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the community structure and percentage of seagrass cover in the waters of Pinasungkulan Village, Tombariri District, Minahasa Regency, this study used the seagrass watch method, observations were made at 2 station points (ST.1 and ST.2) using the equation formula from Cox, 1967. In the waters of Pinasungkulan Village there are 3 types of seagrass, namely Enhalus acoroides, Halodule pinifolia and Cymodocea rotundata. The percentage of seagrass cover in ST.1 was 22.54% and ST.2 was 28.22%, the average value obtained from these two stations was 25.38%. Overall, the community structure of ST.1 species Halodule pinifolia has the highest important value index of 143.46% and ST.2 species Cymodocea rotundata which has the highest important value index of 133.24%. Parameters in the waters of Pinasungkulan Village, Tombariri District, Minahasa Regency have a normal pH and a stable temperature with sand and silt as a substrate.

Keywords: seagrass, percentage cover, community structure
