STRUKTUR KOMUNITAS ALGA DI SEKITAR PERAIRAN KELURAHAN MERAS KECAMATAN BUNAKEN KOTA MANADO

Abstract


Algae in North Sulawesi are still relatively abundant and have begun to be cultivated to be used as food or medicinal products. However, clear information about the presence of algae species, especially information about algae community structure, has not been widely reported, so it is necessary to do research on the algae community structure in North Sulawesi waters, more specifically around Meras Village waters. This study aims to determine the species of algae and the structure of the algae community around the waters of the Meras Village, namely density, species diversity and dominance. The method used in this study is the line transect method. The results of the study found 9 species of algae, namely Dictyota mayae, Halimeda macroloba, Gracilaria edulis, Padina australis, Sargassum polyceratium, Sargassum polycystum, Eucheuma spinosum, Bornetella oligospora and Amphiroa fragilissima. The highest algae species density was G. edulis at 2.31 (ind/m2) and the lowest was E. spinosum at 0.27 (ind/m2). The species dominance index in this study was T1 0.17; T2 0.19 and T3 0.22. And the algae diversity index on each transect obtained T1 which was 1.76, T2 was 1.85, and T3 was 1.91.
