ABSTRACT
Nutmeg plants especially the seeds, fruit flesh and fuli has been widley used as an antibacterial but there has not been much research in the skin part of the fruit, therefore this study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of nutmeg extract. Methods which carried out in the research were agar diffusion method with positive control of Ciprofloxacin and negative control of aquades as well as test solution used of nutmeg extract with the series of concentration of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%, respectively. The result showed that the higher concentration of the test solution the greater the inhibit zone formed. Thus it can be concluded that the nutmeg skin has antibacterial activity.
