Gambaran penyakit saluran pernapasan di Puskesmas Wenang Kecamatan Wenang Kota Manado periode Juli 2023 – Juni 2024

Background: Respiratory diseases are a group of complex diseases caused by various factors and can affect any part of the airway. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) through World Health Statistics 2024, respiratory diseases are 5 out of 10 diseases that cause the most deaths in the world.
Aim: To know the description of respiratory tract diseases at Puskesmas Wenang, Wenang District, Manado City for the period July 2023 - June 2024.
Methods: This study was a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design using secondary data obtained from medical record data during the period July 2023 - June 2024.
Results: The total number of respiratory disease cases during the study period was 2,216. The most prevalent disease was upper respiratory tract infection (URTI), with 2,023 cases (91.3%). Based on age group, the most cases were found in the adult age group (19-59 years), with 950 cases (42.9%). Based on gender, most cases were found in females, totaling 1,177 cases (53.1%).
Conclusion: Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI) is the disease with the most cases. Respiratory tract diseases are most common in adulthood and are more common in women.
