Abstract

Pedestrian comfort and safety in the Langowan Urban Area, Minahasa Regency, remain constrained by limited pedestrian infrastructure. This study assesses the walkability level of five main road corridors using the Pedestrian Feasibility Index Guidelines (PPIKB), determines the handling priority order using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), and formulates a provision and arrangement strategy for pedestrian paths. The PPIKB assessment was conducted through field observation of seven physical-condition parameters, while AHP involved two expert respondents evaluating three criteria: corridor connectivity and strategic function, accessibility and comfort, and safety and security. The results show that the Walkability Index of all corridors is low, ranging from 22.86 to 31.43, categorized as very poor to poor. The AHP analysis produced a handling priority order of Corridor A, E, C, D, and B, with the safety and security criterion obtaining the highest weight (0.7163) and a consistency ratio (CR) of 0.0966, indicating consistent expert judgment. Based on the synthesis of both analyses, five strategic directions were formulated, comprising pedestrian network development, safety and comfort improvement, land-use integration, and phased implementation according to priority.
